Vaginoplasty Ankara

What is Vaginoplasty?
Vaginoplasty is a surgical procedure in which vaginal wall laxity is repaired and an enlarged vagina is tightened.
Patients usually seek consultation due to complaints such as feeling a bulge in the anterior or posterior vaginal walls, experiencing vaginal gas during intercourse, reduced sensitivity, difficulty achieving orgasm, or partner-related sexual dissatisfaction. After a detailed examination, the decision for surgery is made.
What does vaginoplasty involve?
Vaginoplasty involves removing the excess, stretched vaginal tissue and suturing the remaining vaginal mucosa to tighten the vagina. The vaginal tissue is naturally elastic to accommodate the passage of the baby’s head during childbirth; however, it often does not return to its pre-pregnancy state.
Some patients are highly dissatisfied with this looseness. Vaginal prolapse may occur, or there may be sensations of gas release or noise during intercourse, inability to achieve orgasm, or decreased sexual satisfaction with a partner. Laxity of the anterior or posterior vaginal walls can also lead to urinary incontinence or constipation. Vaginoplasty addresses these issues effectively.
How is vaginoplasty performed?
During vaginoplasty, a rectangular segment of tissue that causes vaginal widening is removed from the posterior vaginal wall, extending toward the cervix. The remaining edges are then sutured together. If there is prolapse of the anterior vaginal wall, the same procedure is applied to that area as well.

How much is the vagina tightened with vaginoplasty?
Vaginoplasty aims to achieve a tightness that allows approximately two fingers to enter the vagina. Narrowing the vaginal opening can enhance sexual pleasure and make achieving orgasm easier.
Can I give birth after vaginoplasty?
It is possible to give birth after vaginoplasty. However, the vagina may stretch again after delivery, and another procedure might be needed. Therefore, if the patient’s complaints are not severe, it is generally recommended to wait until family planning is complete before undergoing vaginoplasty.
What should I pay attention to after vaginoplasty?
After vaginoplasty, follow your doctor’s instructions regarding antibiotics and painkillers. Showers can be taken as usual. Sexual activity, sports, and hair removal should be avoided for six weeks. Light spotting may occur during the first week. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience high fever or foul-smelling discharge. The stitches dissolve on their own.
How long does it take to recover after vaginoplasty?
Recovery usually occurs within about one week. Sexual activity, swimming, and exercise should be avoided for six weeks.
Will vaginoplasty be noticeable?
The stitches are placed inside the vagina, so there is no visible scarring externally. Since the stitches are dissolvable, it is not apparent that the patient has undergone vaginoplasty.
Can vaginoplasty be performed on women who have not given birth?
Yes, if the patient’s complaints indicate the need, vaginoplasty can be performed even if she has not given birth.
When can sexual intercourse be resumed after vaginoplasty?
Sexual activity is generally not recommended for six weeks after surgery. Mild discomfort or pain may occur during the first intercourse.
