Labiaplasty is performed due to reasons such as loss of self-confidence from dissatisfaction with the appearance of the external genitalia, inability to achieve arousal during sexual intercourse due to excess skin folds over the clitoris, pain from chronic irritation, friction and pain during sports, visibility through tight clothing, and frequent vaginal infections.

Who is Eligible for Labiaplasty?

Labiaplasty can be performed on patients over the age of 18 who have complaints, whether they have given birth or not.

How is Labiaplasty Performed?

Labiaplasty involves cutting and removing the excess portions of the labia. The procedure takes approximately 60 minutes and can be performed under general, local, or spinal anesthesia.

What Should Be Considered After Labiaplasty?

After labiaplasty, it is important to regularly follow the local applications recommended by the doctor. Pain relief may be used if necessary. The stitches dissolve within 15 days. Showering is allowed. Sexual intercourse, sports, and hair removal are not recommended for four weeks. Swimming in pools, the sea, and using the bathhouse are also not allowed until the doctor gives permission.

Are Stitches Removed After Labiaplasty?

There is no need to remove the stitches after labiaplasty. The stitches dissolve on their own.

Does Labiaplasty Damage the Hymen?

Labiaplasty does not damage the hymen.

When Can You Have Sexual Intercourse After Labiaplasty?

The stitches heal within the earliest of 15 days. Generally, sexual intercourse can be resumed 4-6 weeks after the procedure, depending on the doctor’s assessment during follow-up.
